Shoe Buying Tips for
Women
The types and styles of women's shoes are one of the most
varied in a woman's wardrobe. Each season new styles and colors
take the fashion world by surprise.
In fact it doesn't matter what type of legs or feet you
have, you can find a shoe that will flatter your body
build.
Here are a few shoe buying tips for women and their
varied wardrobe:
Best Shoes for Mini Skirts
- Thumbs up - Tall boots, kitten heels, thongs, strappy
sandals, slides.
- Thumbs down - ankle boots, oxfords, athletic shoes,
clogs or socks.
Best Shoes for Long Skirts
- Don't combine black shoes with a
long pastel skirt, unless you've also gone to the trouble of
coordinating any purses or belts you plan to wear with the
outfit. This is one example of an instance in which the old
adage that "black doesn't clash with anything" can be untrue,
particularly if your skirt is a vibrant pastel color.
- If you're wearing a long pastel colored skirt don't wear
black shoes. Black in this case isn't flattering,
especially if your skirt is a very bright color. One exception
to this rule is if you've coordinated your accessories such as
a scarf, belt and purse, but if you haven't steer clear of the
black.
- I suggest a classic or basic shoe especially if your dress
has a lot of color patterns and lively design, it's certainly
easier to match shoes to this type of dress but it also keeps
the eyes off your shoes and more on your dress, which is what I
prefer.
- Don't wear boots with longer skirts, they'll cover up your
ankles which isn't flattering. Long skirts cover you up
so leave what little bit of leg you're showing. It's so
much sexier and attractive.
- Don't wear platform, clunky shoes with a long dress, stick
with kitten or strappy heels. Long skirts and dresses can
make you appear shorter so wearing the right heels can make you
appear slimmer.
For women with large legs
Stay away from flats if you can, but no stiletto heels
either and don't do a lot of ankle straps. There are some great
shoes are being made for the thick ankled, wide-foot woman, for
example, designershoes.com has some great styles
for women with larger feet and legs and they look
fantastic.
